Dr. H. Fergani

Dr. Houssein Fergani is the Director and Founder of the Hamilton Endoscopy Centre (HEC). He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology at McMaster University.  He is Consultant Staff at St. Joseph’s Healthcare and Hamilton Health Sciences Hospitals.

He completed his gastroenterology training at McMaster University in 2004.  He has been teaching Gastroenterology Fellows, Internal Medicine Residents and Medical Students at McMaster University since 2004.

Dr. Fergani is interested in interventional colonoscopies and has performed more than 35,000 endoscopic procedures in the City of Hamilton.  He has extensive experience in performing both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.

In addition to his specialty training in Internal Medicine, subspecialty training in Gastroenterology and being a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Dr. Fergani is also a certified Family Physician and a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada.  He worked as a Family Physician and an Emergency Room Physician for a few years before pursuing his specialty and subspecialty training.
